My friends and I booked a day on Lake Erie to catch Walleye, I knew it would be a great day. Captain Tony worked hard......very hard to put us on the fish and his first mate Jake followed his lead and kept our lines in the water. By the end of the trip we had a big cooler of Walleye! I have been on many charter boats with very experienced captains and have come home with little to show for the day. So to be on the lake with “Walleye Encounters” and to do so well, was a tremendous experience. I was very pleased when I was introduced to Captain Tony and first Mate Jake. We had non-stop fishing action...pulling Walleye after Walleye out of the water until everyone was maxed-out. “My son and I arrived at the dock just before the sun was up. This June morning the air was cool and fresh with a slight breeze from the northwest. Captain Tony and Mate Jake had the boat ready to board and after a short tour and safety brief we were underway. Everything was neat, clean, and well organized. The conversation was lively as we headed out to the north-east. It seemed to be a blink and we were slowed and getting the equipment set up for our first pass at the walleyes. Captain Tony had all the equipment and the strategy down. He had done is homework! As we fish on our own as well as this charter we were offered to do as little or as much as we liked. We chose to be pretty active and it wasn’t long before the first walleye was on its way into the cooler! We ended up having a great experience with 12 walleye this trip and we were back to the dock by our target time of 1:00 pm. We chose to take our “trophies” home for cleaning but this is a service that is also offered at the dock. All in all, my son and I had a great experience and will certainly be back with Captain Tony.”
